Spanish tennis star Rafael Nadal is among the wealthiest professional artists in the world right now. With a reported net worth of $180 million, you’d best believe that he isn’t one to skimp out on the gifts he buys, especially the one he recently got for himself.
Earlier in June, Nadal celebrated his 34th birthday aboard his new yacht in his hometown of Mallorca, Spain. Let’s find out more about his new fancy ride.
Yacht Delivered
The yacht was allegedly delivered by Sunreef Yachts about a year after he ordered it from the manufacturer last summer.
The 80-foot water vessel is called the Sunreef 80 Power and costs somewhere between $5 million to $10 million to make considering the several custom features the athlete had done. Some reports say that Nadal spent $6.2 million on the yacht and personally helped in designing it.
Sunreef Yachts is known for building large sailing and power catamarans.
Exciting Features
Nadal’s new yacht boasts of having almost 4,000 square feet of living space. Its interiors feature the tennis star’s favorite colors: beige, cream, and coffee.
Inside, Nadal and his family can enjoy spending time together in the spacious main deck saloon. Guests can be accommodated in the four en-suite guest cabins.
The master of the ship, meanwhile, can sleep in the owner’s suite, which has its own fold-out balcony.
Among its most exciting features is an onboard garage, which can store plenty of aquatic recreational vehicles such as Jet Skis. For more laid-back activities, guests could lounge in the relaxation area with tanning pads or have some drinks at the fully equipped wet bar.
The vessel itself is equipped with two 1,200 hp engines and can travel as fast as 24 knots.
Love for the Sea
Nadal, who grew up on an island himself, is known to be a lover of the sea.
Speaking about his purchase of the yacht, he shared how he would find time to enjoy boating every time he returns home to Mallorca. The tennis player is also known to enjoy activities like snorkeling and swimming.
He then thanked Sunreef Yachts CEO Francis Lapp for making his custom yacht possible
Meanwhile, Lapp said in a statement that he believes that Nadal and his wife Xisca Perelló would have a great time aboard the yacht with their family and friends.
