Everyone by now already knows about Elon Musk! Some people know him as one of the world’s richest men, some know him as the man with nine kids, and others know him as the man being sued by Twitter for not buying the social media platform. However, it is safe to say that Musk has garnered quite a reputation over the years.
From celebrating his celebrity status to trying to give witty replies on Twitter, Elon Musk is no stranger to making headlines over some of the most unbelievable topics. However, this time, Musk has made it to the headline section for a rather different topic than usual. The Tesla founder has shifted its entire focus towards making the working prototype of its humanoid robot, Optimus, even if it means that he has to delay Tesla’s A.I. Days.
Welcome To The World Of Robots
In a message shared on Twitter, Elon Musk spilled the details of the upcoming technology of Tesla. He stated that the company has decided to push the release by six weeks, moving it to the end of September in hopes that the humanoid project, Optimus, would be completed by then. The technology day, which is to be celebrated, would be solely focused on artificial intelligence. This is why Musk has stated that the event should be ‘epic.’ In a tweet, Musk mentioned that 30th September would be the date for the Tesla AI Day’s release. Initially, the release was scheduled for the 19th of August.
Faster And Better
At the previous Technology Day event, critics and fans were looking forward to news regarding the neural net supercomputer named Dojo to train a humanoid robot that would perform various tasks, ranging from boring to dangerous. Also, it was expected to go on sale in 2023. However, despite the initial release date, the company failed to present any prototype. A three-dimensional rendering was introduced. The basic specification is five foot eight inches, with 125 pounds weight and a walking speed of five miles per hour. However, this new robot is said to have a Tesla FSD computer installed for intelligence, and the movement would be powered by 40 actuators.
A Shocking New Technology
At the start of 2022, Elon Musk declared that he was pushing back the launch of the Cybertruck to work on the humanoid robot, which did not sit well with Tesla investors. When introducing the robot, he claimed that the cost of the robot would be quite high but would eventually drop down when manufacturing would be scaled. In a TED Talk, Musk claimed that this robot would be bigger than the car, and people have no idea how great the product would be. Well, this is something that depends on the people. So, let’s just leave it at them.
Elon Musk is known for his unique and out-of-the-box thinking but would this one impress the world?
